YES: Splinter Group Changes Name, Announces Tour

Fresh off their Rock and Roll Hall of Fame induction, the Yes splinter group, Anderson Rabin Wakeman, have changed their name and announced some new tour dates.

Newly rechristened Yes Featuring Jon Anderson, Trevor Rabin, Rick Wakeman, the trio will kick off a North American tour on August 26th in Stockton, California with dates running through October 11th in Clearwater, Florida.

“It’s very simple: The fans want it, we want it and it’s our right to use the name,” Anderson says. “Yes music is in our DNA.”

This is not to be confused with the recently announced Yes tour, including at stop at the Palace Theater in Greensburg, featuring Steve Howe, Alan White and others. They aren’t exactly thrilled with the name change. “While Jon Anderson has rights to use the name as one of the co-owners of the trademark,” an official statement from the band reads. “Yes’ position is that every effort should be made by promoters, ticket agencies and all involved to respect Yes’ magnificent and loyal fanbase and minimize confusion regarding the use of Yes Featuring Anderson, Rabin, Wakeman.”
