STEELERS: Rooney Facing Pressure To Fire Mike Tomlin

Following Sunday’s 45-42 loss to the Jaguars in the AFC Divisional Playoffs, there are some who are looking to change things up a bit.

According to Pro Football Talk, some partners within the Steelers’ ownership group are lobbying for majority owner Art Rooney to fire head coach Mike Tomlin.

“The limited partners, who became involved nearly a decade ago as member of the Rooney family sold their interest in the team after acquiring gaming interests that violate league policy, have no authority over the management of the team, but they have a pipeline to owner Art Rooney,” says the report.

Still, even though many believe Tomlin was out-coached by Jaguars head man Doug Marrone this past Sunday, the only way to get outcoached in the playoffs is to make to them.

Which Tomlin seems too do quite often—leading Pittsburgh to eight playoff appearances, two Super Bowl appearances and one title in his 11 seasons.

Maybe these partners need to stop paying attention to all the white noise in the NFL and realize just how good the Black and Gold are with Tomlin.
