Dashcam Video Is Released Of West Virginia Officers Beating Teen Chase Suspect

Video from a 2018 alleged police beating of a teen suspect has been released by authorities.

The video was taken last November and shows officers beating, punching, kicking, and picking the 16-year-old up by the neck. Five officers are on camera taking part in the footage. This was after the young man, who led cops on a high speed chase, crashed into a utility pole. The disturbing footage also shows the teen being tossed to the ground by his neck.

One of the West Virginia State Police troopers was fired earlier this year and faces charges of using excessive force.Michael Kennedyis being charged with Deprivation of Rights under Color of Law following the arrest of a 16-year-old boy last November. The trial date for Kennedy has not been determined.

Four of the five cops involved have been fired. The FBI is investigating.
