Instead of releasing an entire album, John Oates plans to take his fans on what he considers a year-long musical journey. His latest solo project, Good Road To Follow finds the shorter half of the rock era's most successful duo collaborating with a wide range of talents from a several musical genres. Among them are the pop band Hot Chelle Rae and country music icon Vince Gill. The project delves into rootsy blues, Philly Soul, experimental Americana and contemporary pop/rock and country.
Oates will release a single every month. Fans who subscribe to the series distributed by Elektra Records will receive a new download and exclusive content every four weeks and the opportunity to purchase related merchandise. The lead single "High Maintenance," featuring Hot Chelle Rae, will be released in June.
A future single, “Stand Strong,” has been given a sneak peak in conjunction with ESPN, which will feature the song in its live broadcast of the NASCAR Nationwide Series race at Bristol Motor Speedway.
